‘Man’s Best Friends’ Strut Their Stuff

DOG owners and their furry friends had a field day at Central Park in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, last Sunday. The event was the fifth Malaysia Responsible Dog Ownership Day which was organised by puppy.com.my and sponsored by Purina Pet-Care (M) Sdn Bhd.

It was held in conjunction with the Responsible Day Ownership in the United States and was aimed at promoting responsible dog ownership in Malaysia. It was a sight to behold as the dogs took after the antics of supermodels and strutted their stuff in a bid to win the Best Dressed award.

Ji Ji, owned by Carol Ng, 30, and her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Lee Yoon Yi, won the fi rst prize. Helena Hon, 48, and her Faith took the second prize while Janice Tan, 31, and Scruffy went home with the third prize. They each received a set of Purina One dog food, a bottle of shampoo and a hamper of goodies. Among the other attractions were demonstrations by the Royal Malaysian Police’s K9 unit in which dogs are used to detect bombs, drugs and control crime; the Selangor Working Dog Club and the Search and Rescue Team from the Fire and Rescue Department.
