
THE Malaysian Intitute of Art (MIA) gave 15 scholarships totaling RM300,000 to 15 winners of its 22nd Nationwide Art & Design Scholarships Award Competition (NADSA) last month.
The recipients are Form 4 and Form 5 students. The scholarships are valid for three years, allowing the winners to sit for their SPM, and obtain their certificates with the necessary credits before joining MIA.
They may pursue any art and design courses of their choice at MIA. The talented youths are Ivy Mar Wei Zhi, Chan Soong Ching, Keith Tain Yung Je, Iskandar Zulkifl i, Chong Siau Yee, Yap Kah Pau, Teoh Soon Seng, Lim Boon Chuan, Liew Chun Fei, Sia Sin Ying, Yeow Jian Quan, Kelly Ng Hiew Mui, Kek Meng Ling, Loo Kai Ping and Cheong Ting Foo.
The MIA Nationwide Art & Design Scholarship Award Competition is held annually to scout for talents at secondary schools. Twenty-two NADSA competitions have been held in the last 22 years. MIA offers three-year full time diploma courses in Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Art, Interior Design, Textile and Fashion Design, Industrial Design and Music.
