Surprise reminder for winner
FOR someone who forgot that he had entered the Tropicana Car Giveaway contest, Justin Chua Cheng Teck could be forgiven for being a little lost when he found out that he had won a brand new Proton Saga.
“When I was notified that I had won, I had no idea what contest it was, or what I had won,” the 29-year-old said.
The web designer and avid movie-goer from Ara Damansara was also ecstatic that one of his favourite pastimes had paid off with him driving away with a Proton Saga.
Here you go: Chua (centre) flanked by Webber (left) and Permanis key account manager Grace Chen in front of the Proton Saga that Chua won. “I visit the Cathay Cineplex e-Curve almost every weekend,” said Chua, who received a mock key to his new ride from Permanis Sdn Bhd key account manager Grace Chen and Cathay Cineplex marketing manager Sharon Webber at a ceremony at the Cathay Cineplex e-Curve.
“I must have consumed bottles and bottles of Tropicana Twister, but I do love the taste.”
“This is the first time Cathay Cineplexes has given away a car as a main prize and we are extremely happy with the result,” Webber said.
The Tropicana Car Giveaway contest required the purchase of a Tropicana Twister Combo, comprising a 355ml Tropicana Twister and large popcorn pack worth RM8.80.
Participants were required to answer a couple of simple questions and submit their entries from Oct 15 to Dec 31, 2009.
The winner was the one with the most number of correct entries. Each entry had to be accompanied by the Tropicana Twister Combo receipt.
The contest, organised by Tropicana and Cathay Cineplexes, received numerous entries and was very well-received, said Permanis Sdn Bhd group marketing manager Hemalatha Ragavan.
“It was an excellent opportunity for movie-goers to top off their movie experience with a refreshing fruit drink like the Tropicana Twister,” said Hemalatha.
“Our intention to partner with Cathay Cineplexes and give movie-goers a healthier movie snack was something that turned out to be a win-win situation for all parties.”
She also said that Tropicana’s collaboration with Cathay Cine-plexes was another effort by both companies to promote a healthy lifestyle among movie-goers.
